Volcanoes National Park is a world-renowned wildlife conservation area located in the northwestern part of Rwanda, bordering Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo. The park covers approximately 160 km² of lush rainforest and is home to five of the eight majestic Virunga volcanoes, including Mount Karisimbi and Mount Bisoke.
This iconic destination is most famous for being a sanctuary for the endangered mountain gorillas, once studied by primatologist Dian Fossey. It’s one of the few places in the world where travelers can embark on unforgettable gorilla trekking adventures in their natural habitat.
